Rising damp is growth of water and humidity down the subfloor and walls of building. It can be a general problem with old buildings that are constructed with block or sandstone substructures. These substructures can act like a scrounger to the damp in the base, drinking in water into walls and giving you the horrible effects of rising damp.

Majority constructions that do not have damp course installed (a plastic lining) have a higher chance of Rising Damp. Sloppy workmanship during the induction of lump of concrete and pathetic water drain on raised land inclines can also cause genuine problems for home and property owners. Out of date or futile waterproofing membranes can also be the malfeasant when looking for the source of your problem.
